Providence Montessori School is operated as a not-for-profit corporation, governed by a Board of Directors.
The Board is largely formed of, and elected by, parents of currently enrolled students. In addition to parents, the Board is comprised of the school directors, office manager, founder and/or longest serving staff member, as well as past parents (members at large) who continue to provide oversight as the school evolves, while still maintaining the core tenets of a true Montessori education . Additionally, a teacher representative from each educational level serves as a Board member. The Board elects the officers (President, Vice-President, Treasurer, and Secretary) to one-year terms.
Providence is committed to maintaining two-way communication between the parents and the school, and we encourage parents to become involved by volunteering and participating in school events. Becoming a Board member, or serving on a committee, is a wonderful way to become fully invested in your child's education.
