Mary Walsh

Music

Mary graduated from Hollins University in 2021 with a bachelor's degree in music. While at Hollins, Mary studied music composition, classical guitar, and vocal performance.  Currently, Mary teaches kindergarten and lower elementary music classes at Providence Montessori. She is continuing her education as a graduate student at the University of Kentucky studying music composition while also working as a graduate teaching assistant in music theory. She offers private lessons in guitar and ukulele during the after school program. Mary believes that musicality is an innate quality found in every child. Through exploration and study, a child's musicality can grow and develop. Mary strives to teach the fundamentals of music in a way that will nurture a lifetime of musical curiosity.
