Jill Shearer

Classroom II

Jill has taught in both private and public schools in Lexington for the past ten years. She is excited about the Montessori philosophy and method - and how it prioritizes observation of each child and adapting the environment to maximize their potential not just academically, but socially, and emotionally as well. She has a BA in journalism from the University of Kentucky, attended Western Kentucky University for her Masters in Teaching and is trained in the Orton-Gillingham method of reading. Prior to teaching, she was a staff artist at the Lexington Herald-Leader and a small business owner. She is married with two college-age kids and two toddler-age golden retrievers.
